Bhasm aarti is one of the most revered and famous aarti of lord mahakaal in Ujjain.
Every day thousands of devotees try to complete the Bhasma aarti booking online but only a handful succeed in registration. Since there are a limited number of seats (400 online) you need to be at top of your skills to book a ticket. The tickets get over in a matter of minutes.

So why this post ?
Recently I planned for Ujjain and Omkareshwar trip and figured out that Mahakal Bhasma Aarti ticket booking is not an easy task. Somehow I could get the tickets and wanted to let people know some tips that can help.
The online booking opens 15 days before and there are 400 tickets.
You need to have valid documents like an Aadhar Card and a Picture ready.
The booking opens at 8:00 AM . Lets see the Steps one by one.
Step 1: The Official Website
Navigate to the official website https://shrimahakaleshwar.com
You will see 3 buttons named Bhasm Aarti Booking , Sheeghra Darshan and Garb Griha Darshan
P.S : Previously the Mahakal aarti booking was done on website www.mahakaleshwar.nic.in which is decomissioned and now the official website is shrimahakaleshwar.com.
Try to use the computer desktop the mobile version is not very user friendly.
Step 2 : Check Availablity
Click on the Bhasm Aaarti booking button and you will get the below screen which is like a calender. There are 3 legends ( Color codes)
Pink Color dates: These dates are blocked and there is no bhasma aarti booking allowed.
Green Color date : This is today’s date (date when you have launched the web page)
Orange Color dates: These dates are the dates for which the booking is Open.
Step 3: Launch Booking Form for Registration
Click on one of the date ( in orange color) of darshan and the below form will open. Make sure the Remaining Slots for the date is not showing 0. If it shows 0 , It means there are no tickets Left for the day.
In the below screen you can see the Remaining slots is 400 as this is the screenshot of availability before 8:00 AM in morning.
Step 4: Enter Visitor Details
When you click on the Date with available slots you will get the below form . The forms requires you to fill
Your Name , Contact number , State, City . The date of the journey is defaulted and cannot be updated.
The Next Field is the Number of Persons. It is a list of values and an important field. As you enter the number of person more than 1 additional Sub Forms will open below on the same page. You will need to enter the other pilgrims / visitors details.
TIP: Note that you should try to select the number of persons as quickly as possible as it takes time to load the form. Try setting this field first.
Step 5: More Visitor Details
You will need to enter Name , Gender, Relation Id proof type and ID proof Number for all the Visitors to the Ujjain Mahakaleshwar temple.
The Valid ID proof accepted are: ( See the List in the image)
- Aadhar Card
- Driving License
- Election Commission ID Card
- Passport
- Protocol Token Number
Step 5: Upload Images (Photos)
For every visitor you will need to upload their photograph and of their ID card . Make sure you upload of what you enter in the form.
Click on Upload a Photo Button and it will let you browse your local computer drive to select the photo and photo id proof.
TIP: Make a folder and have a short path to access the folder. Or create a shortcut on your desktop in case you need while browsing
TIP: There is also button to Capture a Photo Online . Sometimes the server Is so busy as every one is uploading images you can try to Click the photo at runtime if upload photo is not working
Step 6 : Solve Captcha
Once you finish filling all the form details . Click on the Solve captcha button and you should get a Check confirmation . Then Click on Submit Now Button.
TIP: Once all the details of form is correctly filled the submit Now button get activated ( color becomes dark orange) . If not means some data in not yet filled correctly or still uploading.
Step 7: (Registration No. )
Once you hit submit you will get the registration number and the payment amount calculated.
TIP: This can take some time to render (load) so do not navigate or click multiple times.
Step 8 : Payment
Once you see the Registration Confirmed you need to do the payment .
Click on Add Payment Details button . The price per visitor is Rs 200
After entering you will get payment options like credit card / debit card UPI etc.
Tip Try to use the barcode as its faster.
Once successful your entry pass will be generated
Step 9 : Download Entry Pass with Photo
Once the payment is successful View Entry Pass button gets enabled .
Ckick on view entry pass and that’s is your ticket. It will have time of visit and which gate to enter.
